Parish Share is the Church Sharing! The annual Parish Share Program supports a myriad of ministries of the Diocese of Pittsburgh. By contributing together to Parish Share, we work together for the glory of God, sharing the excitement of our faith.
Parish Share preaches the Gospel throughout our region by:
Supporting parishes, schools, and programs. Parish Share provides resources necessary for parishes, schools, and programs throughout our diocese to show the presence of Christ with us.
Supporting the needs of older adults and the less fortunate. Catholic Charities, Roselia Center and Mon Valley Social Services are among the many social programs receiving Parish Share support.
Securing our future through Catholic Education. In addition to providing funding support for Catholic elementary schools, your contribution plays a vital role in helping more than 85,000 young Catholics receive a firm grounding in their faith through parish-based religious education programs.
Nurturing young Catholics. Through campus and youth ministry programs, Parish Share helps to bolster the spiritual development of young adult Catholics.
Touching the lives of our clergy. Supporting Parish Share promotes new vocations to the priesthood and religious life, provides for the continuing spiritual and educational formation of our current diocesan priests, and the care of retired priests who have given their lives in service to us.
Providing formation and training for permanent deacons. Your contribution provides for the formation of permanent deacons who are training to serve in active ministry throughout the diocese.
Helping parishes to promote the Gospel of Life. Parish Share helps in educating parishioners on pro-life issues, counseling women and teenagers in crisis, and reaching out to women and men suffering from the trauma of abortion.
Parish donations to Parish Share that exceed 17.6 percent of our parish’s ordinary income have a direct financial benefit on Our Lady of Grace Parish. Those funds remain in our parish as unassisted income. In previous years, we have realized more than $100,000 over our assessment allotment.
The Jubilee Year of Mercy is upon us. The motto of the Jubilee Year is “Merciful like the Father.” Pope Francis invites us to be merciful to others, just as our Father is merciful to us. In His mercy, we find proof of how God loves us. He comes to our aid whenever we call upon him. Touched by his compassion, we extend compassion toward others. This is the message of the Jubilee Year of Mercy. As the Church of the Diocese of Pittsburgh, we are called to bring the mercy of Jesus to those in our day who hunger for family, friendship, and faith. Because we have been shown God’s mercy in and through Jesus, we are asked to show His mercy to others. To share in His mercy is to be the face, the hands, the heart, and the voice of Christ. This is what it means to be Church—to be that place where we meet Christ and become partners in his mission of mercy. We live the corporal works of mercy—feeding the hungry, sheltering the homeless, clothing the naked, visiting the sick, visiting the imprisoned, giving drink to the thirsty, and burying the dead. We live the spiritual works of mercy—converting sinners, instructing the ignorant, advising the doubtful, comforting the sorrowful, bearing wrongs patiently, forgiving injuries, and praying for the living and dead. We can go out to every man and woman, bringing the goodness and tenderness of God. Our Parish Share Program is one of the ways you and I extend this ministry of mercy. I invite you in this Jubilee Year of Mercy to reach out to others by taking an active part in our Parish Share Program to support our ongoing work as the Church of Pittsburgh. Let us together, now and for ages to come, share with others the mercy of our God!
Grateful for our belief that nothing is impossible with God, I am
