Cantors These individuals announce the hymns, chant the Responsorial Psalm and lead the congregation in singing during Sunday and special feast day liturgies. Rehearsals are on an individual basis. Musical aptitude and a pleasant tone are necessary.
Children’s Choir Children in 2nd-6th grades are invited to participate in the Children’s Choir. Rehearsals begin following the conclusion of the fall sports programs and take place on Saturday’s from 1:00-2:15 PM. This Choir sings at the 4:00 PM Vigil Mass on Christmas Eve. Parents are invited to attend rehearsals.
Children’s Orchestra The Children’s Orchestra is comprised of middle and high school age students who play violin, viola, cello, and bass. Rehearsals begin in the late fall. Adults are welcome to lead sections.
Contemporary Choir The Contemporary Choir rehearses on Tuesday evenings from 8:00-9:15 PM and sings at the 9:30 AM Sunday Mass and other liturgies. This choir is accompanied by a contemporary ensemble of piano, guitar, percussion, and solo instruments, and performs more folk style music. New members are always welcome.
Kantorei Kantorei is a select group of singers who sing the Psalms and anthems in four or five part harmonies. There is no regular schedule of rehearsals or performances. Auditions are required to achieve the required blend of voices.
Parish Choir The Parish Choir rehearses on Thursday evenings from 7:30-9:00 PM, September-May, and sings at the 11:30 Sunday Mass and other liturgies. The choir sings in four part harmonies and sings mostly the traditional choral music of the Church along with some Latin hymns. There is always a need for new members with musical aptitude.
Resurrection Choir Members of the Resurrection Choir are available to sing at weekday parish funerals. The choir leads the congregation in hymns and Mass responses. No rehearsals are required with music being chosen impromptu.
