Though this school year has just come to a close, we are preparing and gearing up for the 2008-2009 school year! Please keep an eye on this page for important information and forms, in addition to news about plans for the coming year. See you in August!
News
(Update as of 8/6/2008) New Faculty Members Mrs. Angela Stokes will be joining us to teach social studies to grades 5-8 and a religion class. Mrs. Stokes has a social studies certification. She has three and a half years of classroom teaching experience at a school in the Diocese of Orlando and at a middle school in Indiana. Recently, Mrs. Stokes has been teaching at the Carnegie Museum of Natural History. Cafeteria Mrs. Cheryl Cannon will be our new cafeteria manager. Mrs. Cannon has been in charge of Market Day for our school. In the cafeteria, Ms. Carolyn Koch, who has experience working in school cafeterias, will be working with Mrs. Cannon as our cafeteria aide.
(Update as of 8/4/2008) Faculty Retirement Ms. Zadrozny has retired from Our Lady of Grace. We wish her the best of luck as she looks to pursue new endeavors. Please keep her in your prayers. Mrs. Speicher has decided to resign her daily teaching duties due to a family illness. While we will miss her on a daily basis, Mrs. Speicher will stay connected to Our Lady ofGrace School and may help us with some activities. Please keep her and her family in your prayers. New Faculty MembersMMiss Holly Stehura will be joining our faculty full time and will be working with our 4th and 5th graders in subjects such as science, religion, and math. Mr. Tom Welch, who many of you may know from the OLG Parish, will be joining us to teach 4th grade language arts and social studies. Also, Mr. Welch and Miss Stehura will be team teaching the 4th and 5th graders in math. Mr. Welch worked for many years in the North Hills School District and has experience working with students in grades 3-5. He has extensive experience teaching both language arts and math in these grade levels. Mrs. Brenda Serbicki will be joining us to teach language arts for grades 5 and 7. Mrs. Serbicki has taught at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton and St. Valentine’s. She has a reading specialist certification and will be helping with Forensics. School Building Updates If any of you have visited the school, you will see it is quite a mess. However, that mess has and/or will lead to:
- - Floors that are being professionally stripped and waxed
- - A computer lab that is filled with brand new, flat screen Dell Vostro computers
- - A computer in every classroom with network / Internet access
- - An automated computer library
- - Freshly painted ceilings in many classrooms
- - New faucets and drain traps in the first floor bathrooms
- - A freshly painted and updated school office and nurse’s room

- WIRING FOR THE NEW TECHNOLOGY

PROGRAM HAS BEGUN!With the help of many wonderful volunteers, the second week of workto wire our classrooms has just finished! As you walk around oursecond and third floors you see the structure which will hold the wires for the Internet, phone, and classroom cable. OLG will have a Forensics Team for the 08-09 school year!We will be starting a forensics team in the coming school year. Mrs. Jackie Brandewein hasagreed to sponsor our team. New Lights on the First Floor!On the first floor by grades K-2 brand new lights have been installed which really brighten up the hallway and will make our studentsamazing work shine even more!
